ABOUT UMAMI

Bay Area born DJ Umami splashed into the local scene in 2008 at the iconic Poleng lounge. Eager to learn from her peers and bubbling with an infectuous passion for music and Hip Hop culture, her craft, mastery and career grew organically and quick. Within a year of rockin' the turntables, she gained residency with female DJ crew, "Peaches" in San Francisco and Oakland. She went on to open for acts such as Talib Kweli, DJ Maseo, Tokimonsta, Holy Ghost, Chromeo, and more.

In 2012, Umami became a rotating DJ for the Golden State Warriors, and is known to rock the party outside of The Oracle Arena after Golden State Warrior home-game wins. These parties have been broadcasted on ESPN, CSN, and ABC.

With an affinity for health and fitness, she began to DJ events with Nike such as the starting line of the Nike Women's Half Marathon, Nike Women's, Nike Training Club, Epic Workouts with Skylar Diggins and SNKRS with Draymond Green and Kevin Durant. She has curated music for Epic Workouts during Super Bowl 50 with Victor Cruz. She also acts as a resident DJ for Flywheel sports at their Bay Area locations.

In 2015 she landed a time slot on The Bay Area's Throwback Station Q102 (102.1 FM). You can catch her on the Q102 House Party every Friday night/ Saturday Morning at 1am.
